There’s another delay in the Sauble sewer issue.
Back in January we reported to you that the Sauble Beach sewer controversy was on the back-burner until the end of this month.
South Bruce Peninsula Council was informed the recently formed ad-hoc committee looking at an Environmental Study Report (ESR) done by Genivar is not ready with its report.
Councillor Marilyn Bowman says she’s been informed the committee won’t have a report on the ESR until October.
Council has delayed any further action on the matter until at least November.
The ad-hoc committee was looking to see if sewers were really needed in Sauble Beach or were the septic systems doing the job.
Genivar was doing work on the proposed sewer project in Sauble Beach before it was brought to a halt by the then newly-elected council.
The reasoning was they wanted to see for themselves if the 30 million dollar project was really necessary.
When work was stopped, the town had already been billed 1.2 million dollars by Genivar.
