Severe weather rolling into the Owen Sound area today has thrown a wrench into plans for the Salmon Spectacular.
Co-Chair Fred Geberdt tells Bayshore Broadcasting News a tornado watch and strong gusty winds forecast by Environment Canada have delayed setting up the huge tent on the waterfront at the Georgian Shores Marina.
The 300 foot by 100 foot tent was due to be set up Wednesday morning for the annual fishing derby which kicks off on Friday.
Geberdt says because of concerns about the weather, they are planning on setting up the tent after 9 PM on Wednesday.
Because organizers are about 12 hours or so behind schedule, it will be a bit of a scramble to get everything set up in time for the opening Friday.
Geberdt is asking sponsors to wait until Thursday ro set up displays at the site.
