Community Living, Walkerton and District has received over 85 thousand dollars under the Enhanced Employment Assistance Services component of the federal Opportunities Fund.
Huron Bruce MP Ben Lobb was on hand to present the money to the organization.
Lobb says the money will help develop skills community living residents need to find jobs in their community.
He says over the past two years over 100 thousand dollars has been given to Community Living of Walkerton and District.
The Executive Director of the facility, Brodie Hart, says the money will assist 30 people with disabilities.
Hart says they support up to 600 people a year throughout southern Bruce and Grey Counties.
One of those who has received assistance in the past is Lori Reinhart.
Reinhart tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, in a prepared statement, that the money helped her create a resume, contact prospective employers, prepare for an interview and make arrangements to be able to get to work.
She says she landed a job with a local restaurant in her community and since January has seen her hours increase.
Reinhart says she now feels like part of a team at her workplace.
