A familiar face is looking to get into provincial politics in Huron-Bruce.
Grant Robertson is throwing his hat into the ring for the NDP nomination in Huron-Bruce.
Robertson took second place in May’s federal election, and says he intends to seek the provincial NDP nomination ahead of Octobers provincial election.
In a release, Robertson says the McGuinty government is arrogant and out of touch with rural Ontario.
He says a major motivation in deciding to run was the treatment of the town of Walkerton — how it was treated in 2000 during the E.coli crisis and now with the jail about to close.
Robertson looks at rural school closures as another issue that needs to be fixed, saying schools in the riding are getting the short end of the stick.
The provincial election goes October 6th.
