Bruce Power, its employees, the Power Workers Union and The Society of Energy Professionals have joined together to raise more than 40 thousand dollars to help northern Ontario communities devastated by forest fires.
The money is going to support efforts by the Canadian Red Cross.
President and CEO Duncan Hawthorne says whenever there has been a need in the community, the province or around the world, the employees have been quick to jump in to help.
He adds the company lives by its values, and believes it has a responsibility to offer a helping hand when people need it.
A collection was held at buildings across the Bruce Power site last Wednesday for employees — and the company matched those funds raised dollar for dollar.
