The village of Formosa is holding a ‘Homecoming” Celebration this weekend.
Hundreds of people kicked off the celebration at the Formosa Community Centre on Thursday night with the Ambassador Pageant.
10 young ladies from the village competed for the title.
17 year old Rebekah Faulds was crowned the 2011 Formosa Homecoming Ambassador.
The Grade 12 student at Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton is aspiring to be a Nurse Practitioner.
The first runner up went to 17 year old Celina Brown and the second runner up was 17 year old Amy Lange.
The Most Congenial Award went to 18 year old Jessica Fischer, who is attending Fanshawe College for the Child Youth Worker Program.
The opening ceremonies for the Homecoming Weekend begin at 7 PM tonight (FRI) at Immaculate Conception Church.
A Homecoming Parade is being held at 11 AM Saturday.
Other activities include a road hockey and volleyball tournaments, the Hillbilly Games, a Classic Car Show, music and games.
Most of the events are taking place at the Formosa Community Centre and Lions Park.
