It’s a busy weekend in Williamsford.
The community is celebrating it’s new Community Centre by holding a Homecoming weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
One of the organizers, Helen Beirnes says events are planned all day, and they are expecting up to 600 people will take part in the celebration.
Registration begins at 10 AM, with adult tickets 5 dollars and kids 16 and under are free.
There are numerous events for children throughout the day including face painting, crafts and a musician at 2 PM.
Beirnes says a dance is set for 8 PM on Saturday inside the new Community Centre, just west of Highway 6 in the Village.
“Stir it up” is the band for the dance, with adults charged 10 dollars each.
At this point 200 tickets have been sold for the dance, but the goal was 300.
On Sunday morning from 9 until Noon there is a pancake breakfast.
The cost is six dollars for adults and children 5 to 12 years of age are three dollars. (children under 5 years is free)
In total, organizers expect 300 to 600 people will take part in the Homecoming weekend.
