Bad news for swimmers looking to take a dip this weekend in Owen Sound.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says as a result of heavy rains early Friday — a sewage by-pass occurred from the Owen Sound waste water system.
As a precaution both Kelso and Bayshore beaches have been posted unsafe for bathing.
Environmental samples will be taken early next week.
The posting will be lifted once samples show that results are within acceptable levels.
Kelso Beach is not part of the 2011 sample regime. However, due to historic evidence, it has been posted as well as the Bayshore beach.
Beach information is posted on the health unit website and is updated as conditions change.
