Workers at Hobart’s in Owen Sound have a new contract.
The 155 members of the International Association of Machinists ratified a new three year agreement with the company.
It includes a 350 dollar signing bonus and wage hikes in each year of the deal.
A union news release says wages will go up one per cent in the first year. 1.75 per cent in the second and two per cent in the third year.
The contract also includes modifications to bereavement leave, an increase in the health care benefits cap and other improvements to language in the contract.
The Hobart Food Equipment Group’s plant in Owen Sound manufactures industrial dishwashers for hospitals, restaurants and schools.
