Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath is in Huron Bruce on Friday.
Huron Bruce NDP candidate in this past Federal Election Grant Robertson says Horwath will be visiting Port Elgin, his farm near Paisley and the jail in Walkerton.
Bringing the high profile leader into the riding leaves some to suspect Robertson will seek the provincial nomination in Huron Bruce.
Robertson didn’t rule out the possibility and tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he will make an announcement in August.
As for Horwath’s visit, Robertson says they plan to speak to workers at the Walkerton Jail and meet with the public in Port Elgin.
Robertson expects the jail closures in Owen Sound and Walkerton to be among the top issues locally this Fall.
He says if in power an NDP government would let Walkerton residents decide the future of their jail.
Andrea Horwath will be at the Walkerton Jail at 1:30 PM on Friday, touring the jail with local officials.
She will also meet with the public in Port Elgin and have lunch at Robertson’s farm with various agriculture officials.
