Still no word on whether or not the province is going to help out with planned capital projects at Kincardine Hospital — including an expansion of the facility.

President and CEO Paul Davies notes he has heard that some other proposals elsewhere were turned down by the province — but Kincardine is still in the running.
The President of the Kincardine Hospital Foundation Greg McClelland says they are trying to get a handle on whether they will have to fundraise for more money.
The foundation currently raises money for the purchase of new hospital equipment.
McClelland notes in the past — the Kincardine hospital had a couple of opportunities for expansion that didn’t happen.
He wants to know is this another one of those or is this one for real.
The Kincardine hospital plans have received the blessing of the Southwest Local Health Integration Network — and now it’s up to the Ministry of Health.
The first phase of any redevelopment would see areas considered “high priority” rebuilt to connect the Kincardine Hospital to the existing Kincardine Medical Clinic.
That would mean a brand new emergency department, ancillary services, lab, X-ray, and ambulatory care.
Phase two of the project would replace the remainder of the areas, including the in-patient wing.
