Officials from Saugeen Shores and Arran Elderslie are going to sit down and talk police protection.
Arran Elderslie has been shopping around looking to see what could possibly replace the current service provided by the South Bruce OPP.
Saugeen Shores Deputy Mayor and Police Services Board chair Luke Charbonneau says both sides will be meeting on Tuesday July 5th.
In the past, Arran Elderslie officials have said they’re not displeased with OPP service, it’s just that it’s getting pricey and the final tab can be very unpredictable from year to year making it hard to budget.
Saugeen Shores officials have said they’re willing to go into the talks with an open mind but will definitely want to address the cost of such a move and how it would affect police services in Saugeen Shores.
