In response to the cancellation of school bus pick-ups in the County Road 4 and Lambton Street area of Durham, West Grey Council is changing their crossing guard schedule.
A crossing guard will be out at the corner of Bruce Street (County Road 4) and George Street only in the mornings and evenings.
To tally how many students use the route, the new pilot project will run from September to December.
Both the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board and Bluewater Board were criticized by the public, municipality, and West Grey Police for their walking policy this year.
The outcry stemmed from the heavy traffic flow on along Bruce Street (County Road 4) and the amount of times a day students had to cross.
