OPP across the province are warning summer vacationers to be careful on the roads this holiday weekend.
Police call the Canada Day long weekend the busiest time of the year for traffic in the area.
Officers will be out in full force across the region to eliminate speeders and setup RIDE programs.
Police ask drivers to slow down, wear your seatbelt, eliminate distractions and drive sober.
They are also reminding families that the holiday weekend is a great time to kick off your summer with family and friends — however many families mark the death of loved ones during this time.
The OPP’s Canada Day Weekend Traffic Safety program runs from today through Monday.
