Huron-Kinloss is starting to see the benefits from the federal government’s plan to extend federal gas tax funding to municipalities until 2014.
Starting in 2010, the township will receive over 100 thousand dollars twice a year for four years.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says it’s an added bonus of much-needed revenue for the municipality.
He says the more money the township can get from other levels of government, the better off residents will be.
Twolan says the gas tax money usually goes towards road and bridge projects and foresees that continuing into the near future.
