Efforts to bring the American Wind Symphony to Kincardine this summer are still afloat.
The idea of bringing the floating orchestra to town seemed to be in jeopardy because council and corporate sponsors weren’t interested in the 30 thousand dollar price tag.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says he notified conductor Robert Boudreau who responded by offering to still come to Kincardine if the community raised half of the cost, with the orchestra covering the rest.
Kraemer says he’s going to be contacting local service clubs and business organizations to see if there’s a way the money can be raised.
Kraemer says Boudreau has offered to come and speak with business and community groups to generate interest.
The American Wind Symphony is based in Pittsburgh and travels around the world performing on a barge that serves as a concert stage.
