The 21st annual Festival of Northern Lights in Owen Sound set a new milestone.
Officials say they had visitors from more than 100 communities visit Owen Sound to see the lights.
Chair Ann Kelly says they talked to people as they drove through the kiosk at Harrison Park.
And there were visitors from across Canada — and from as far away as Michigan, Texas, even England, Germany and India.
Kelly says the visitors were thrilled with the size of this year’s Festival and remarked about the displays.
Kelly notes they had more displays this year than any other year — and the replica of Billy Bishop’s World War One plane was a big hit.
Ann Kelly and her husband Al are now stepping down from the Festival committee.
They have been involved with the event for almost the full 21 years.
Kelly says they want to step aside and let others lead.
But Kelly says she will always remember the volunteers who worked so hard in the snow and cold and took pride in preparing the Festival of Northern Lights.
