Starting this morning, shoppers were able to get their first look at Port Elgin’s new Wal-Mart Super Center store.
Manager Leandra Murphy says they’re having what’s called a “soft opening,” which started at 7:00 this morning.
The main grand opening event is on Wednesday, January 21, starting at 8am.
Murphy says the soft opening lets customers get to know the store and do some shopping ahead of grand opening day.
Murphy says they’re still looking for some cashiers and staff for the fresh-food departments, but believes they’ll have a full compliment of employees soon.
Murphy says around 160 part-time and full-time staff will work at the new Wal-Mart in Port Elgin.
