The decision means 140 people with the exhaust systems manufacturer will lose their jobs.
Wescast will close its Wingham North Huron foundry and transfer production to its second Wingham foundry over the next few months.
The plant is slated for closure in the first quarter and will save the company about 10 million dollars a year.
Officials say the decision reflects the moves by the company’s customers to reduce car and truck output.
