TSC Stores must pay a hefty fine after a worker at its Owen Sound store was injured.
The fine was handed down last week to the London based farm supply and hardware retailer for a workplace health and safety violation.
On May 2nd, 2007 — 2 workers at the Owen Sound store were moving a utility vehicle to a locked area for the night.
The operator was driving around a curve at high speed when the vehicle tipped over and then skidded.
The operator suffered a fractured leg and the passenger was unharmed.
A Ministry of Labour investigation concluded the employer had not provided adequate information and instructions to the worker on how to operate the vehicle.
