It’s going to be bitterly cold for the rest of the work week in our region.
Bayshore Broadcasting Weather Specialist John Wilson says right now it’s not cold enough to post a wind chill warning though – temperatures have to feel closer to -30 to do that.
Wilson says it’s been a few years since we’ve experienced a cold snap like this in Bruce and Grey Counties.
He doubts we’ll record any records overnight this week.
We could set a record low for the day today – that was set in 1957 at -16 at Wiarton.
However, overnight, it did not get as cold as it was -in the early overnight hours – in 1965 when it was -26.7.
The recorded low overnight into tomorrow morning, -28.2 was set in 1994, and Wilson doubts we’ll get that cold either.
Our cold snap should subside by the weekend, when we warm up to -5 by Sunday.
