We’re bracing for extremely cold temperatures.
Bayshore Broadcasting Weather Specialist John Wilson says we’ll see temperatures on average across the region fall to the minus mid teens during the day tomorrow through Friday.
Wilson says overnight, lows will hit the low to mid minus twenties.
Wilson says while the Arctic Cold Air moving in brings us those cold temperatures, it’s the windchill when factored in we need to worry about.
With the windchill, during the day, it will feel like we’re dealing with temperatures in the minus twenties, and overnight, in the minus thirties.
Wilson says this is the coldest air we’ve experienced all winter so far, and we could hit record lows in some places.
He says as soon as windchill values start approaching minus 30, windchill warnings are posted, and we may see that.
Under those conditions exposed flesh can freeze in minutes and there is a serious risk of hypothermia.
