Museum Manager Brian Manser says they budgeted for revenue of 123 thousand dollars, and Grey Roots brought in 155 thousand dollars.
That is nearly 30% above the budget projection and Manser says the good news continues in memberships.
Those memberships are also up some 30% over 2007.
Manser says partnering with the Maple Syrup Festival, Owen Sound’s Celtic festival and Sydenham School’s Fall Fair…. all helped to boost admissions in 2008.
Those partnerships will continue this year and he is hoping they can continue to grow the number of memberships and admissions at Grey Roots.
The Museum Manager also credits all the volunteer hours put in over the past year, mainly dealing with construction and programming of the heritage village.
And Manser says the KidsCamp and school programming continues to be a success with more than 58 hundred students taking in the programs.
