The Ontario government is investing $80,000 in local Seniors Community Grant projects.
“Our government is proud to invest in programs that help seniors remain active and engaged in their communities,” says Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Paul Vickers. “This funding will strengthen local opportunities for older adults to build meaningful connections, stay healthy and continue making valuable contributions across our riding.”
The funding is part of an overall $7 million investment to protect seniors and older adults by supporting more than 320 community projects that help them stay fit, active, healthy and socially connected.
The funding will go to the following organizations:
– $ 5,650.00 – Municipality of Grey Highlands: Age-Friendly Senior’s Health Fair in Markdale
– $14,562.00 – Meaford Public Library: free monthly seniors art workshops
– $25,000.00 – Paisley’s Trinity Theatre: inter-generational workshops bringing youth and seniors together
– $19,850.00 – Wiarton Propeller Club: senior’s fitness classes, cooking workshops, digital/financial literacy
– $15,238.00 – Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service Corporation: providing safety education and resources
Seniors Community Grant projects are designed to increase independence, reduce social isolation and create positive connections.
