Bruce County’s Warden says extra money from senior levels of government made it easier to get infrastructure work done in 2008.
Bill Goetz says decision making would have been stressful without the extra
help.
He says a lot of work is needed on bridges and roads and it’s been put off
for too long.
Goetz says the big highlight of the year was the International Plowing
Match.
He says the weather was uncertain at the start, but it turned out good.
Goetz says the Nagg’s Bridge project over the Saugeen River will be a major
undertaking over the next two years and will cost around four million
dollars.
He says social housing for Port Elgin is also a priority.
Goetz says with the economy experiencing difficulty, it’s important to
remember stress taxpayers are under.
He says many Bruce residents have seen cutbacks where they work and some are unemployed.
