He admits that the ailing economy may result in a delay in the construction of the new hospital in Markdale but he is optimistic that the Provincial Government will follow through with its commitment to build the new hospital.
Murdoch says when he asked in the Legislature just before Christmas about the status of the hospital, he was reassured that the proposal was still on the Governments agenda.
Looking ahead into the new year, He wants to see the government continue its reconstruction of Highway 26 between Meaford and Woodford and Meaford and Thornbury.
He also would like to see Highway 6 north to Tobermory improved as well, but admits the ailing economy may delay those projects.
Murdoch says he has no regrets looking back over the past year, not even over his call to have John Tory step down at Conservative Leader, a move that got him turfed from the party.
He says he has not changed his view about Tory and if he cant get a seat in the Legislature, then for the good of the party he should step down.
Tory is scheduled to announce his future on January 9th.
