And the winner is…….West Hill Secondary School.
The Envirothon Team from the school came in first at the 2008 Provincial Envirothon Championships.
The group attended the championships at Tim Horton’s Onondaga Farms in the Cambridge area last week.
22 teams from regions across Ontario took part in this year’s Evirothon, themed “Leave Only Footprints”
Teacher Carl Rayner says the team will now go on to represent Ontario at the North American Envirothon in Arizona in late July.
Rayner says the team took part in five “outdoor stations” and won two.
They were for “Forestry” and “Recreation and the Environment”.
Raynard says the team also won the oral presentation category.
Raynard says the team is made up of five outstanding students and was very well liked by other teams and Envirothon officials.
He says preparation for the Arizona competition will start as early as today.
