OPP officers across the region are spending some of their time this Christmas wandering through parking lots looking for unlocked car doors.
They’re also checking for items left in plain view in vehicles.
The officers are leaving notes for drivers with tips on how to keep their christmas items safe.
OPP Constable Peter Leon says there are would-be thieves in parking lots, watching for shoppers who drop items off at their cars.
He says while many people in our are think their items are safe in the car or minivan, if they’re left in plain view, they’re a temptation.
