Police Chief Tom Kaye says up to four Owen Sound officers will get the once in a lifetime opportunity.
He feels the experience and knowledge the officers will gain will be invaluable.
Officers will wear their Owen Sound uniform and cover several sporting events.
Police officers will be chosen based on experience, knowledge and attendance.
Those selected will be deployed for eight teen to forty five days.
Five thousand police officers and private security from across Canada will made up the security task force.
Five hundred of those officers will be from Ontario.
The federal government will cover salary, lodging, and transportation costs.
