One trailer is a total loss and a second slightly damaged in a fire early this morning at the Port Elgin Tourist Camp on Bruce Street.
Saugeen Shores Acting Fire Chief Phil Eagleson says the first trailer was engulfed with flames when fire-fighters arrived on the scene around 12:45 a.m.
Fire crews managed to quickly extinguish a second fire that had started burning in another, nearby trailer. No injuries were reported in the blazes.
Eagleson says the estimated total damage to the two trailers is about 40-thouand dollars.
Saugeen Shores Fire and Police Departments are continuing their investigation, looking at a possible connection between the fires and other possible break-ins at the park last night.
The Fire Marshall’s Office also has been consulted.
Chief Eagleson said his men did a great job in fighting the fires in the difficult environment of a trailer park.
