Kincardine Physician Recruitment and Retention Coordinator Lynn Bos tells Bayshore Broadcasting news, Dr. Sheryl Spithof is leaving at the end of December.
Bos says Dr. Spithof will join the Doctors Without Borders Program; a program that assists underserviced areas.
Bos says Dr. Spithof will leave the country in January and her patients become orphan patients.
Bos says there are now seven doctors working in the clinic, one designated to the emergency room only.
There will be eight in January, when Dr. Larissa Kasniak begins working in the clinic after she is finished her residency.
She will take on patients once she has adjusted.
Kincardine lost Dr. Rick Mann in March of this year when he became the Regional Coroner for Ontario and Dr. Susan Boron only a year ago to Hanover.
However, the town gained one this year, Doctor Lisa MacNeil-Coven officially joined the team in September.
