Evans Aviation will operate the facility under contract with the municipality with a target budget of 65 thousand dollars.
Only two companies expressed interest in operating the facility, a third was contacted but wasn’t interested in operating a smaller airport like Kincardine.
Municipal staff are estimating the operating loss for the airport to be around 80 thousand dollars.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says the new service provider has actually been operating the airport for the past year on an interim basis.
He says the process of finding a new operator has been going on for a year and the new contract formalizes a new service arrangement.
