It is everything you wanted to know about the agricultural business but were afraid to ask.
B-D-O Dunwoody out of Hanover hosted an all-day seminar to give their farm clients in the region an update on what is going on in the agricultural industry.
About 200 farmers from Grey, Bruce, Huron, and Wellington Counties gathered at the Knights of Columbus Centre yesterday near Walkerton.
B-D-O Chartered Accountant John Hunt says his office tries to hold these updates every year or at least once every two years.
He says this is an opportunity for farmers to hear from people that they dont normally get to see.
Hunt says farmers were interested on the issue of trade — especially the rules regarding Country of Origin labelling — and how negotiations will have an impact on their business.
He says whether you are a poultry or dairy farmer you always have concerns of whats going on in the world.
Hunt says there were speakers that were talking about crop farming, price projections, and even long-range weather forecasting.
Hunt says his office has had these seminars for the last ten years.
He says they keep having them because of the great turnout they have been getting.
