A memorial celebration is being held today for an Owen Sound conservationist.
Blake Smith died last month of an apparent heart attack at a meeting of the Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association.
He was 77.
Smith worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources for over 30 years and was a member of the Sydenham Sportsmen for 15 years.
Smith dedicated his life to the outdoors and wildlife preservation.
A memorial for Smith will begin at 1:30 PM today at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
