The Bruce Grey Owen Sound M-p-p says he is NOT paying a thousand dollar hydro bill for an Owen Sound woman and her three children.
The Sun Times reports today (FRI) that Murdoch has offered to cover the cost of her electricity bill, overdue by two months, after Hydro One came within 24 hours of shutting off the juice.
The paper reports that officials from the Women’s Centre told the woman on Wednesday that Murdoch would help.
However ‘helping’ the woman and paying her bill outright are two completely different things says Murdoch.
He says his office gets a lot of requests to help with overdue bills and they simply can’t pay them.
Their procedure is to send a letter to the utility and make them aware of the situation…however they do not take sides or suggest the utility extend their deadlines.
Murdoch says he’s worried there will now be a line up outside his constituency office door of people looking for financial assistance.
