CEO Dr. Saad Jasim says things had been held up for a couple of weeks while construction crews awaited paper work before connecting the hydro.
He says however as of this week the excavation on the 19 thousand square foot building is back on.
Dr. Jasim says it’ll be nice to eventually work out of the larger facility.
The current building only has one room for training and meetings.
Jasim says if they’re holding a training session they can’t hold a meeting.
The new facility will have three training rooms plus additional space for a conference of up to a hundred people.
The new Clean Water Centre is being built in Walkerton’s East Ridge Business Park and is expected to be ready by next fall.
Jasim says they’ve managed to train more than 13 thousand people since the current centre opened.
He says they’ve also got a satellite training unit in Thunder Bay and another planned for Sault Ste. Marie recognizing that not everyone can travel great distances for the training.
