A Durham area farmer who made headlines with his raw milk battle will hit the big screen.
A one hour documentary about Durham area farmer Michael Schmidt will be screened at the International Film Festival in Italy this weekend.
The film is titled “Michael Schmidt — Bioterrorist or organic hero.”
The documentary was produced by Snowy Owl Productions and followed the unfolding of the Raw Milk Battle in Ontario.
It starts with the raid at Schmidt’s farm near Durham in November 2006 — for which he still faces charges in court.
The film also includes the vote at Queens Park as well as fundraisers and protests.
Schmidt will talk at the screening about his trials and tribulations as a raw milk farmer in Canada.
