Ontario’s official opposition leader is calling for Dalton McGuinty to come up with his own plan to keep the economy afloat.
John Tory has presented an action plan on jobs and training but he says the Liberals at Queens Park have ignored his ideas.
Tory tells Bayshore Broadcasting news, that’s fine if he wants to do that, but the Premier needs to come up with his own plan.
John Tory wants the province to provide training and recruitment to meet the skilled labour shortage, and he wants new incentives for employers to hire new workers.
The Conservative leader says the economic slowdown may hit rural areas like Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth and Simcoe counties harder than the big cities because a few lost jobs has a bigger impact.
He also says investing in infrastructure is something both the Federal and Provincial governments should be doing anyway, regardless of the economic slowdown.
