There is a group of citizens wanting the Kincardine Hospital to separate from the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.
SBGC President and CEO Paul Davies tells Beach News until the group makes a formal presentation to the board, he has no real comment on the situation.
Davies says people are entitled to their opinions, and that he sticks to his comments at the stakeholders meeting on October 31st.
At that meeting, he stated there has been very little change at Kincardine Hospital compared to others across the province, and that there is no need to be concerned about losing services.
Davies believes if the group created a business plan, as suggested, to see if they could operate alone, the group would find they probably would not be financially viable.
The group is holding a meeting December 9th at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine to garner public support.
It also wants to create a committee that could act as a board should the hospital stand alone.
The group is concerned, the loss of OHIP covered physiotherapy service from this past summer, is only the beginning of what’s to come at the hospital.
