The Bruce County Astronomy Society holding three separate events to gaze as both the night sky and the sun.
The club will be setting up their telescopes in front of Owen Sound City Hall Saturday to check out our daytime star, the sun.
Society President Donna Giesler says they use special filters that allow people to look at the sun without damaging their eyes.
She says they should be able to see some sun spots or solar flares if there is any of that activity.
Saturday night, there will be two star gazing sessions.
One will take place at the Saugeen Bluffs Conservation area and the other at the Owen Sound Soccer Complex behind the Goodyear plant.
Giesler says the club also is continuing its efforts to get more areas in the region designated as dark sky locations, where there is a limited amount of light pollution.
She says already Northern Bruce Peninsula is such an area making it an ideal place to so some serious star gazing.
