Saugeen Shores retired Police Service Dog Titan had successful surgery on Friday to have metal and hardware removed from his leg that was used to mend a broken bone.
Now it’s a waiting game.
Over the next couple of weeks we’ll know if it solves the problem of Titan’s continuing injury.
Last week, there was thought of putting the dog down because of suffering and frustration it was going through.
However, a veterinarian from the Southampton Pet Hospital suggested this one more procedure to see if removing the foreign hardware would assist the dog in resuming a reasonably normal lifestyle in retirement.
