On Soundingboard Senior Planner David Smith says they’re hoping to get input from the general public as well through a series of five open houses being held in Wiarton and Walkerton.
Smith says the county official plan provides direction of planning in general for many issues involving farm and non-farm land.
He says the plan would mandate how large or small farm lots can be; what kind of severances you can get to what kind of uses you can have on a farm lot.
Smith says the plan will also create policies on wind farm development.
He says the open houses will allow citizens to comment on some the proposed changes already developed by the committee.
However Smith is quick to point out that the proposals are just that and have not been approved by anyone.
The open houses in Wiarton will be held at the library tomorrow 9am to Noon and Monday, Nov. 17th 1:30 to 4:30 and again 6:30 to 8:30pm.
Meetings will be held in Walkerton at the county offices tomorrow 1:30 to 4:30pm; Wednesday November 19th, 6:30 to 8:30pm and Thursday, November 20th from 8:30am to 10:30am.
