Bruce Power Media Relations Spokesperson John Peevers says a YouTube video on the Bruce A refurbishments provides the public with an inside view on the biggest infrastructure project in Canada.
He says the video takes you right inside the reactor vault, an opportunity usually not available.
Other interesting sights include giant cranes lifting 100 tonne steam generators into place.
Peevers says they’ve been making videos for about a year, but until now have only posted them on the Bruce Power website.
Peevers says they’ve recognized that many people are more likely to search for videos on YouTube and this is a way to keep up with trends in global communication.
He also says it’s a way to reach the youth audience, which is important since today’s kids will be Bruce Power’s future work force and customers.
Peevers says the video was posted on Wednesday and he’ll be keeping an eye on how many hits it gets – he’s hoping a lot of people take advantage of the opportunity to learn what’s happening at Bruce Power.
The video is about 12 minutes long and comes in two parts – you can find it by typing ‘Bruce A Restart’ into the search field on YouTube.
