Classic and modern luxury vehicles descended on Owen Sound and Cobble Beach over the weekend for the 11th annual Concours d’Elegance.
Founder and Show Chair Rob McLeese says he was very excited about this year’s event which began on the Friday with the Tour d’Elegance from Cobble Beach.
Then on Saturday, Owen Sound’s River District was lined with cars for the free Cars and Coffee event along 2nd Avenue East and the Concours d’Lemons on 1st Avenue West.

The event wrapped up on Sunday with the judging of cars on Cobble Beach’s golf course, stretching from the early 1900s to modern day.
A 1938 Steyr 220 Roadster owned by Pennsylvania businessman Peter Boyle won the Best In Show Award this year.

“We start in 1904 and we go up to a 2026 Lyriq-V, we have brass cars, we have super cars pre-2005, we have motorcycles, British motorcycles, we are having so much fun,” says McLeese.
The popular event has become well-known amongst car owners and enthusiasts from outside Canada as well.
“This year we have a 21 window Samba Volkswagen van from Michigan that was restored over a five-year period, it’s a spectacular original vehicle,” says McLeese.
Judges were out Sunday morning judging the vehicles in various classes, including Canadian Build or assembled pre 1985, post war luxury pre 1980, and modern supercars.

Additionally, McLeese says they introduced a new category this year, titled 30 under 30 which is for vehicle owners 30 years old and younger with a vehicle 25 years or older and have spend $30,000 on cost and restoration.
“I think everybody is really enjoying it, in fact I had a bunch of people telling me to bring it back next year,” says McLeese.
The event also operates as a fundraiser to support both the Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital Foundation and Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, and McLeese says this year aims to raise over $30,000 for the Owen Sound Hospital.
