That is what the doctors of the Kincardine Hospital want the Board of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre to say to President and CEO Paul Davies.
The statement was part of an open letter to the board distributed by Doctors Gary Gurbin and Lisa Roth at yesterdays stakeholders meeting at the Kincardine municipal offices.
Around 75 attended the meeting which was also seen through closed-circuit television at the Davidson Centre.
The letter — signed by all the doctors at the hospital — says Davies failed to support the hospital in meeting the needs of a growing community.
The doctors also accuse Davies of making poor management decisions based on misinformation.
The meeting was to have been an information session to address some of the issues at the hospital including the recent cuts to out-patient physiotherapy and the possibility of the hospital de-amalgamating from the SBGHC.
Doctor Roth admits it was an emotionally charged letter but it accurately portrays the feelings of both the doctors and the community.
Doctor Roth says Davies should be managing all the hospitals in the catchment area better on a minimum budget.
She says hospitals only work because of the people who work in them and they deserve the utmost respect.
Board Chair John Haggarty says he was disgusted by the actions of the two doctors.
He says the distribution of the letter was not at an appropriate time and place.
He also says there was never a time when the board declined to meet with the doctors at the hospital.
Haggarty says both he and Davies were prepared to walk out of the meeting at that time.
They did leave but only after making their presentation and answering the questions that had been prepared by Kincardine Council.
On the decision to cut out-patient physiotherapy at the hospital, Haggarty says the Board felt it would have had less of an impact to the public.
He says the Board pondered for a long time before making the decision.
Haggarty says the only regret was the arrangement they have made with the privately-operated PT Health to provide the service at the hospital.
He says they should have just made the cuts and stopped right there just like they did with the hospitals in Walkerton, Chesley, and Durham.
Haggarty says he and Davies will meet with the board to talk about the doctors’ letter and whether any legal action will be taken.
The stakeholder meeting was chaired by Kincardine Mayor Larry Kraemer.
Also at the meeting were Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell, Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan, LHIN Chair Norm Gamble and Acting CEO Michael Barrett, and Gregg McClelland of the Kincardine Hospital Foundation.
