Clean up continues in Markdale after a diesel spill overnight.
Grey County O-p-p Constable Steve Starr tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the spill is quite extensive.
He says it starts at the lights in Markdale on highway 10 and spreads to Grey Road 12 on to Traverston Side Road and beyond.
The Ministry of Natural Resources has been informed and crews from Grey County as well as West Grey are on the scene helping with the clean up.
Constable Starr expects some or all of those roads to be closed for quite some time and suggests motorists avoid the area until further notice.
He says the investigation continues and he expects to release more information later this morning.
The vehicle involved in the diesel spill is only being identified as a ‘private truck’.
