Smoke from forest fires in northern Ontario has prompted an air quality statement for Bruce and Grey counties.
Environment Canada says poor air quality and reduced visibility is expected to continue today, before improving.
An advisory says older adults and young children, as well as those with chronic health conditions are usually more sensitive to reduced air quality.
“As smoke levels increase, health risks increase. Limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events,” Environment Canada say in its advisory.
Forecasters say the poor air quality may persist through the day, and possibly into Tuesday for some areas.
