Construction values are up in Kincardine for the month of October, but new builds are down.
Building and Planning Manager Michele Barr says 15 permits have been issued with a value of 1.4 million dollars.
Compared to October of 2009, 28 permits were issued, at a much lower value of 667 thousand dollars.
Year to date figures show 236 permits have been issued since the beginning of 2010, up slightly from last year’s 222 permits.
However, construction values are significantly higher this year at 23.9million dollars.
Barr says last year’s values at this time of year totalled 16.2 million.
She says there are a higher number residential buildings and renovations.
