There’s a new Fire Chief coming to South Bruce Peninsula.
Dan Robinson, the former Fire Chief of Haldimand takes over the role on November 10th.
Robinson, who has 28 years olf municipal fire service experience, will actually be known as the Manager of Emergency Services.
South Bruce Peninsula CAO Malcolm MacIntosh says Robinson has a wealth of experience in the areas of fire protection, suppression, education, and emergency response.
MacIntosh says Robinson’s duties will also include emergency management, although there is another individual training to become the community’s Certified Emergency Management Co-ordinator.
Robinson replaces former Fire Chief Terry Hutchinson, who was terminated without cause in May (2008).
Since the termination of Hutchinson, the position has been looked after by Interim Fire Chief Irv Quan, and Special Assistant to the Fire Chief Tim Wilson
