The Kincardine Community Health Care Foundation needs a lot cash.
Board President Jennifer Cook says as announced at their recent Annual General Meeting they want to cover the cost of a digital mamography unit.
It is currently functional at the Kincardine Hospital, at a cost of more than three hundred thousand dollars.
Cook hopes to raise 75 thousand in a fundraiser today, of which the Board will then match.
She says the municipality is also kicking money in, and though a confirmed amount has not been announced, she believes it is in the area of 155 thousand dollars.
Last year, more than 344 thousand dollars was raised.
Cook says 90 thousand dollars in equipment for the hospital was purchased, including a blood gas analyzer for the lab department and a patient lift for the nursing department.
Funds from the Kincardine Auxillary, Malcolm Place, and Hip Hip Hooray in that total meant much needed office equipment and thermometers could be purchased as well.
The foundation board consists of the president, the Vice President, Becky Fair and several directors, as announced at the AGM.
Cook also says they are still looking for one more director to get involved, and are open to more volunteer help at anytime.
